Employer: Observer
Board Member since 2014

Family:  I live with my boyfriend, Sean, and my cat, Dora, in Fredonia.

Biography:  I grew up in Collins, NY, and moved to Leon, NY, in high school, graduating from Pine Valley. I attended SUNY Fredonia and started working at the OBSERVER as a reporter after graduation. I am now the city editor there and was introduced to United Way through my boss.

What is something people would not expect about you?

Besides being somewhat of a girly girl, I am also pretty nerdy. I read a lot, play some video games and like movies, trivia and games..

 What is your favorite quote?

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” - Albert Einstein
(This is just one of many and it was a hard choice.)

What drew you to United Way?

I was first asked to be involved in United Way by my boss. That got me started on seeing what the organization is about. Once I got involved in seeing what our community partners accomplish and what impact United Way has on the community, I was hooked.

What do you love about United Way?

I love the impact the organization has on the community. It is an unfortunate secret what United Way does to help organizations that directly help children, families and the elderly in need in our community.

I also love seeing the reactions of people we help directly through the VITA program that saves people money by filing their taxes for free and through our Early-Grade Literacy program, giving books to elementary school children. There is nothing more rewarding than those smiles and appreciation.”
